Fairchild Unveils 1200V Motion SPM 2 Modules - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Fairchild Semiconductor (FCS), a supplier of high performance power semiconductor solutions, Wednesday announced its 1200V Motion SPM 2 modules for customers building high-voltage industrial applications.

The new Smart Power Modules are expected to enable simple and reliable design, extremely high thermal performance and full protection for systems using large 3-phase inverter motors for high energy efficiency.

Fairchild's latest Smart Power Modules integrate critical power management silicon components to help reduce board space and heatsink sizes, leading to a compact, all-in-one solution for up to 7.5kW, high-voltage designs.

The firm used the same Direct Bonding Copper packaging technologies originally developed for space applications to deliver a junction-to-case thermal resistance that is 15 percent lower than competing solutions.

Fairchild is exhibiting at Electronica 2014 in Munich, Germany from Nov. 11 to 14.
