Fairchild Semiconductor Q4 Earnings Advance 7%

(RTTNews) - Fairchild Semiconductor (FCS) announced a profit for its fourth quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $12.7 million, or $0.11 per share. This was up from $11.9 million, or $0.10 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.14 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 5.8% to $317.2 million. This was down from $336.6 million last year.
