Facebook Trying Out 'Snooze Button' For Temporarily Muting Friends

(RTTNews) - Facebook is beta testing a new snooze option that temporarily mutes your friends posts, thus providing its users options to block friends' for temporary period posts instead of totally unfollowing or unfriending.

Users can choose to just mute friends for 24 hours, an entire week, or 30 days.

TechCrunch says it spotted Snooze feature on Facebook's desktop site in the U.S. To access snooze, users should click on the three horizontal dots to the right of the name of friend / page / group that needs to be muted. Now instead of just an unfollow option, there's "Unfollow or Snooze."

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed it is testing the Snooze feature, telling TechCrunch "We're testing new ways to give people control over their News Feeds so they can stay connected with the stories they find most relevant."
