Facebook Makes Breaking Up A Bit Less Awkward
(RTTNews) - Ending a relationship is stressful, painful and sometimes very awkward. Thankfully, Facebook has announced a new tool that will help breaking up more easier for couples.
Facebook is testing new tools in the U.S. that the company expects will help couples handle their Facebook page in a better way after a relationship ends.
"We are testing tools to help people manage how they interact with their former partners on Facebook after a relationship has ended. When people change their relationship status to indicate they are no longer in a relationship, they will be prompted to try these tools," said Kelly Winters, Product Manager.
Facebook's new tools will enable users to see less of a former partner's name and profile picture at Facebook without have to "unfriend" or block the person. Posts from your ex-girlfriend will not show up in News Feed and their name won't be suggested when people write messages or tag photos.
Facebook users can also limit the photos, videos or status updates that a former partner will see and can also edit who can see their past posts with a former partner and untag themselves from posts with that person.
