eventIS Enables Innovative VOD Business Model for Polish Service Provider

eventIS, a SeaChange company and market leader in metadata solutions for linear broadcasting and video on demand (VOD), today announced a comprehensive deal to supply a VOD solution to INEA of Poland. INEA is the largest local telecom operator in western Poland. The new deal will enable it to establish an innovative wholesale model. As well as providing VOD content to its own subscribers, INEA will also manage and deliver on-demand content for several smaller service providers. eventIS is supporting this arrangement by supplying its open converged Service Delivery Platform (cSDP) and providing overall system integration management on the project.

The cSDP is also a state-of-the-art open solution that allows us maximum freedom of choice, for instance in video servers, edge QAMs and the integration of our existing billing and CRM systems. The eventIS cSDP is based on its PRODIS asset and product management system and TRAXIS.web transaction manager. The cSDP allows customers to add optional modules such as promotions, ad insertion, recommendations and multi-screen services. It is easily scalable, allowing networks to add large numbers of new subscribers without additional software.

INEA currently offers over 140 programmes through a variety of packages in digital and HD versions, and also provides high-speed, unlimited internet access to more than half of its more than 137,000 subscribers. Since January 2010, it has also offered 4-play packages with mobile telephony as well as fixed-line services. Its entry into VOD marks yet another expansion to its services.
