Event Advisory: IEEE-Santa Clara Chapter Symposium Explores Solar PV Technologies that are Changing the World
Escalating fossil fuel prices and global climate change are accelerating the demand for renewable energy sources. Enabled by recent advancements in technology and manufacturing, solar photovoltaics (PV) promise clean, cost-effective energy that is already competitive with fossil fuel-based energy in certain markets. On October 2nd, the IEEE SCV-EDS1 and Applied Materials will host a technology forum to explore the state-of-the-art photovoltaic cell and manufacturing technologies that are changing our world.
This technically-focused symposium will feature a panel of distinguished scientists, industry thought leaders and successful solar PV manufacturers. The speakers will share their insights into the latest cell technologies, explore the dynamics of the rapidly changing PV market and explain how large-scale manufacturing can drive down the cost-per-watt of solar electricity.
