EMC Buys Aveksa - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Data storage solutions provider EMC Corp. (EMC) reported acquiring privately-held Aveksa Inc. for undisclosed terms. Aveksa would operate within the RSA security unit, effective immediately, as part of RSA's Identity Trust Management product group, bringing technology and expertise that would help RSA bring innovative new solutions to identity and access management challenges across enterprise, cloud and mobile access use cases. The acquisition would not have a material impact to EMC GAAP or non-GAAP earnings per share for fiscal 2013.

Both RSA and Aveksa would help give organizations the ability to automate the complete identity lifecycle of users from a business-driven perspective, helping turn traditional IAM systems into more agile, intelligent and scalable "situational perimeters."
