Edison Mission Group Adds Major Wind Project to Its Renewable Portfolio

"As the nation's leading retail provider of renewable energy,Edison International is committed to developing new, environmentallysensitive energy technologies to meet the growing demand forelectricity throughout the U.S.," said EIX Chairman John Bryson. "TheSan Juan Mesa project will provide the people of New Mexico with avaluable new source of environmentally friendly electricity at a timeof rising fossil-fuel costs."

The project will include 120 turbines, 220 feet high, each capableof generating approximately one MW of electricity. Projectconstruction, which began earlier this year, is approximately 50%complete and expected to be finished by the end of 2005. Projectacquisition is subject to completion of construction and other closingconditions.

The acquisition brings EMG's national wind portfolio to 316 MW,enough to power more than 200,000 homes.
