DGAP-News: ABO Wind AG: Sale of eleven windfarms in development
DGAP-News: ABO Wind AG / Key word(s): Disposal/Strategic Company Decision ABO Wind and the utility cooperation Trianel are expanding their collaboration and will develop eleven wind farm projects together. For this purpose and for the first time, ABO Wind has sold a portfolio of German wind power projects in development. Trianel Renewable Energies (TEE) has acquired the wind farm projects with a total capacity of 182.2 megawatts for joint project development. ABO Wind will be responsible for the technical operational management of the finished wind projects. The projects, which are spread across Germany, are at various stages of development and consist of wind turbines from different manufacturers. "With Trianel, we have found a reliable partner for projects in the past. Thus we are pleased that we can intensify our trusting cooperation with the project development of a portfolio," says Petra Leue-Bahns, Head of Financing and Sales at ABO Wind. In 2016, TEE transferred the wind farms Uckley and Buchenau planned by ABO Wind with a total capacity of around 50 megawatts into the TEE portfolio. "In terms of size and diversification, the acquired development portfolio fits perfectly into our expansion strategy. Our goal is to have transferred the majority of the portfolio to construction by 2020 and to integrate it into our joint portfolio," says Dr. Markus Hakes, Managing Director of Renewable Energies GmbH & Co. KG. "With ABO Wind we are entering into our largest wind energy cooperation so far. Together we combine professional project development with municipal energy supply and are thus prepared to face the increasingly demanding requirements in the wind business. We are already expecting our first permit shortly," adds Gregor Kuhnert, Project Development Onshore Manager at Trianel GmbH. With this portfolio, ABO Wind has now sold around one fifth of its German wind farms currently in development. The project developer is currently working on a total of around 900 megawatts of wind power throughout Germany. Worldwide, 500 employees of ABO Wind work on wind and solar projects with a capacity of more than 4,000 megawatts in 18 countries on five continents. Under the umbrella of Trianel Renewable Energies, 38 utilities and Trianel GmbH are committed to the expansion of renewable energies. Together they invest around half a billion euros in the development and expansion of their own renewable energy portfolio with wind power plants and ground-mounted PV systems throughout Germany. Trianel's project development provides the competence for the acquisition and optimization of existing projects, the development of new projects with regional partners - from greenfield to commissioning and transferring to the TEE portfolio.
