CB Richard Ellis Wins Top New York City Real Estate Award for Sixth Ti
Business Editors/Real Estate Writers
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2005--CB Richard Ellis (NYSE:CBG) today announced that its New York office has received two of the Real Estate Board of New York's (REBNY) top three commercial real estate awards for 2004 -- the Henry Hart Rice Achievement Award and the inaugural Edward S. Gordon Award. The Henry Hart Rice Award is REBNY's top award for creative deal-making, and the New York real estate industry's most coveted honor. CB Richard Ellis has captured this award six times since 1994.
CB Richard Ellis' Richard Karson, Jim Robbins and Harly Stevens won the Henry Hart Rice Award for "The Making of the Rodale Building" at 733 Third Avenue. Rodale, a publishing company, had been prepared to relocate from its non-contiguous space at 733 Third Avenue to more efficient space -- a move that would entail a significant financial commitment -- but the team instead convinced Rodale to stay, restacking their offices and renaming the building.
CB Richard Ellis' Adam Foster, Joan Meixner and Steve Siegel won the Edward S. Gordon Award for their representation of the Research Foundation, a not-for-profit institution, in its purchase of 230 West 41st Street, a 230,000 sq ft office building. The Edward S. Gordon Award is named for the industry legend who founded CB Richard Ellis' predecessor company in New York.
The 2004 awards continue a long tradition of accomplishment for the New York office. Besides six Henry Hart Rice Awards, CB Richard Ellis has garnered five Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Awards from REBNY since 1994. In addition, the firm's Long Island office was also honored this week with the Association for a Better Long Island's "Most Ingenious Deal of the Year" award for its work for the County of Nassau.
