Booz Allen Hamilton Q2 Profit Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. (BAH), the parent company of management and technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., reported preliminary results for the second quarter of fiscal 2015.

For the quarter, net income slipped year-on-year to $65.28 million, or $0.42 per share, from $67.81 million, or $0.45 per share. Adjusted net income was $66.7 million, compared with $70.1 million in the prior year period, while adjusted earnings per share were $0.44 versus $0.47 last year. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.41 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

In the second quarter, revenue declined as expected, mainly due to continuing macro challenges in the federal government spending environment and the residual impact of the slower award pace in the months immediately following last October's government shutdown. Revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2015 was $1.30 billion, compared with $1.38 billion in the prior-year period, a decrease of 5.3 percent. Ten analysts estimated revenue of $1.31 billion.

For fiscal year 2015, the firm reaffirmed its revenue guidance, which calls for a mid-single digit percentage decline. However, it now sees EPS to be in the range of $1.48 to $1.56, and adjusted EPS to be in the range of $1.54 to $1.62 per share, providing a narrowing of its earnings and an increase of 3 cents at the mid-point for both ranges.

In addition, the company authorized and declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.11 per share, payable on November 28, 2014, to stockholders of record on November 10.
