Black Hills Corp Profit Retreats 9% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Black Hills Corp (BKH) announced earnings for third quarter that fell compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $26.0 million, or $0.48 per share. This was lower than $28.6 million, or $0.64 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.43 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 22.7% to $333.8 million. This was up from $272.1 million last year.
