BankAtlantic to Sponsor City of Lauderhill Art, Culture, and Tourism Board’s Fourth Annual Juried Art Show and Art Exhibition

BankAtlantic, Florida’s Most Convenient Bank, announced it will sponsor the City of Lauderhill’s Art, Culture, and Tourism Board’s Fourth Annual Juried Art Show and Art Exhibition.

The Art, Culture and Tourism (ACT) Board of the City of Lauderhill is proud to announce the winners from Parkway Middle School for the Performing on Arts. The winners of the show will be announced and recognized on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. at the African American Research Library located at 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale.

The students’ art will be evaluated and scored based on its originality, creativity, and technical quality. Cash prizes provided by BankAtlantic will be awarded to the winners of the contest. Prizes will be awarded in five categories: drawing, painting, mixed media, ceramic sculpture, and masks. The judges include well-known artists Liliana Gerardi, Karl "Jerry” Craig, Cristina Keller and Corinne Wakeland of the Lauderhill Art Center (5448 NW 19 Street in Lauderhill).

Everyone is invited to stop by the event and meet the young artists on April 9^th. The art will remain displayed at the African American Research Library through the middle of May 2011.

Parkway Middle School, located in the City of Lauderhill, is Broward County’s only performing arts magnet middle school.
