Autoweb Acquires UK-Based Datranet Limited

Autoweb Inc., a NTT Com Group company and a globalprovider of engineering data management services for the automotiveand aerospace industries, has acquired Datranet Limited.

Based in the United Kingdom, Datranet is a developer ofproduct-design communication and collaboration solutions. Effectiveimmediately, Datranet will do business as Autoweb Ltd.

The merging of both companies' products and services will driveinnovation into the industry through integration of computer aideddesign (CAD), product lifecycle management (PLM) and communicationsystems that automate key engineering processes.

This acquisition provides customers of both organizations with asingle interface to globally communicate with their business partnersvia industry standards, including Autoweb and the Odette File TransferProtocol (OFTP/ENGDAT).
