Applied Materials Inc. Earnings Climb 3% In Q4

(RTTNews) - Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) announced a profit for its fourth quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $347 million, or $0.29 per share. This was up from $338 million, or $0.27 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.29 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.9% to $2.37 billion. This was up from $2.26 billion last year.
