(RTTNews) - Amkor Technology Inc. (AMKR) Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $42 million or $0.18 per share, compared to $7 million or $0.05 per share last year.

Adjusted net income for the quarter rose to $41 million or $0.18 per share from $27 million or $0.13 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, five analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.14 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the latest fourth quarter were $755 million, up 4 percent from $723 million in the year-ago period, while three analysts expected revenues of $758.88 million for the quarter.

Looking forward to the first quarter, the company expects earnings of $0.02 to $0.08 per share and sales of $650 million to $700 million. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $0.09 per share on revenues of $719.95 million for the quarter.
