AFLAC Inc Reports 15% Rise In Q4 Earnings

(RTTNews) - AFLAC Inc (AFL) revealed earnings for its fourth quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $668 million, or $1.56 per share. This was higher than $581 million, or $1.29 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.47 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.4% to $5.32 billion. This was down from $5.51 billion last year.
