South Korea Has $4.30 Billion Trade Surplus

(RTTNews) - South Korea posted a merchandise trade surplus of $4.30 billion in February, the Customs Office said on Friday.

That was well above forecasts for a surplus of 1.90 billion and up from $0.33 billion in January.

Exports were up 4.8 percent on year, beating expectations for an increase of 1.9 percent but slowing from 18.0 percent in the previous month.

Imports tumbled an annual 13.1 percent versus forecasts for a decline of 10.4 percent after sinking 7.8 percent a month earlier.
