Slovak Industrial Output Rises Faster In June
(RTTNews) - Slovakia's industrial production increased at a faster rate in June, figures from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Friday.
Industrial output rose by a working-day adjusted 7.5 percent year-over-year in June, after the 4.7 percent growth in May. This equaled February's growth rate.
Manufacturing output increased 9.5 percent following the 6.1 percent rise in May. Mining and quarrying output grew 12 percent in June, which was notably faster than the 1.9 percent increase in May.
Output in the utilities sector declined further in June, by 10.2 percent. In May, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output had dropped 7 percent.
On a month-over-month basis, industrial production rose 0.6 percent in June.
In the January to June period, output grew 5.6 percent year-over-year.
A separate report showed that construction output fell 4.9 percent year-over-year in June following the 2 percent increase in May. This marked the third decrease in this year.
On a month-over-month basis, construction output fell 2.2 percent in June.
