Portugal Consumer Confidence Improves For Second Month

(RTTNews) - Portugal's consumer confidence strengthened for the second straight month in October, while economic sentiment dropped slightly, survey figures from Statistics Portugal showed Friday.

The consumer confidence index climbed to -10.7 in October from -11.3 in the previous month. In August, the score was -12.7.

The index measuring the general economic situation of the country for the next year improved to -5.0 in October from -5.6 in September.

At the same time, households' expectations regarding their own financial situation for the next twelve months worsened in October. The corresponding index fell to -0.2 from 0.1 in September.

The economic climate indicator dropped marginally to 1.3 in October from 1.4 in the preceding month.
