Philippine Exports Rise For First Time In 3 Months

(RTTNews) - Philippine exports grew for the first time in three months in November, while imports declined sharply, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority showed on Thursday. Exports climbed 0.4 percent month-on-month in November after a 0.7 percent drop in October and a 8.9 percent decrease in September.

Meanwhile, imports declined 7.0 percent, reversing a 3.1 percent rise in October. This was the first fall since June.

As a result, the trade deficit fell to $4.7 billion in November from $5.6 billion in October.
