New Zealand Has NZ$2.5 Billion Current Account Deficit

(RTTNews) - New Zealand had a seasonally adjusted current account deficit of NZ$2.5 billion in the third quarter of 2014, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday.

That follows the NZ$490 million shortfall in the second quarter.

Exports of goods fell NZ$380 million, while imports of goods added NZ$325 million.

On a yearly basis, the current account deficit was NZ$6.1 billion (2.6 percent of GDP); it was 2.5 percent of GDP for the year ended June 2014.
