Malta Industrial Production Falls For Third Month

(RTTNews) - Malta's industrial production decreased for the third straight month in March, figures from the National Statistics Office showed Friday.

Industrial production fell a working-day-adjusted 4.9 percent year-over-year in March, which was worse than the 2.8 percent decline in the previous month.

Among the main industrial groupings, output in the non-durable consumer goods industry plunged 15.7 percent annually in March and that for consumer goods sector slumped by 14.1 percent. At the same time, durable consumer goods industry logged a growth of 6.9 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production slid 1.4 percent in March, reversing a 2.5 percent climb in February.
