Luxembourg Consumer Prices Decline In July

(RTTNews) - Luxembourg consumer prices declined in July after a modest increase in the previous month, figures from the statistical office showed Wednesday.

The consumer price index decreased 0.03 percent in July after a 0.02 percent gain in June. In May, the index fell 0.03 percent.

Compared to the previous month, the CPI declined 1.10 percent in July following a 0.24 percent increase in June. The fall was the first since January.

The statistical office also retained its inflation forecast for this year at 0.2 percent.

Based on the evolution of Brent prices in the coming months, the next automatic adaptation of wages and salaries would rise between the last quarter of 2016 and the second quarter of 2017, the agency said.
