Japan Current Account Data On Tap For Monday
(RTTNews) - Japan will on Monday release December numbers for current account, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
The current account in November was a surplus of 433.0 billion yen, while the trade balance showed a deficit of 636.8 billion yen.
Japan also will see January numbers for bank lending, consumer confidence and the eco watchers survey. In December, bank lending was up 2.6 percent, while the consumer confidence index came in with a score of 38.8. The eco survey for current conditions had a score of 45.2, while the outlook was at 46.7.
Australia will provide January figures for job advertisements; in December, they were up 1.8 percent on month.
Taiwan will see January numbers for imports, exports and trade balance. Imports are expected to fall 0.8 percent on month after tumbling 12.3 percent in December. Exports are called higher by 2.6 percent after dipping 2.8 percent in the previous month. The trade balance is expected to show a surplus of $3.94 billion, down from $4.45 billion a month earlier.
