Ireland Trade Surplus Grows In December
(RTTNews) - Ireland's foreign trade surplus climbed in December, as exports grew faster than imports, figures from the Central Statistics Office showed Monday.
The seasonally adjusted trade surplus rose to EUR 3.97 billion in December from EUR 3.32 billion in November.
In the corresponding month last year, the surplus was EUR 3.96 billion.
Exports grew 7.0 percent monthly to EUR 9.87 billion in December. Imports grew slightly to EUR 5.90 billion from EUR 5.89 billion.
In the whole year 2015, total trade surplus of the country was EUR 44.01 billion, which was the largest surplus on record. Both exports and imports surged by 20.0 percent and 10.0 percent, respectively as compared with 2014.
