England/Wales House Prices Rise Modestly In November: Land Registry

(RTTNews) - House prices in the U.K. increased slightly in November, after falling in the previous month, data from a survey conducted by Land Registry revealed Tuesday.

The house price index for England and Wales edged up 0.1 percent in November from the previous month, when it recorded a 0.3 percent fall.

With a 1.8 percent monthly growth in prices, London continued to experience the greatest increase in property value. The biggest fall was recorded in East, where prices decreased by 0.7 percent.

Year-on-year, house prices increased 3.2 percent in November. This followed a 3 percent gain in October and a 2.7 percent growth in September.

London registered the biggest annual price increase of 10.6 percent. The only region to record an year-on-year decline was the North East, data showed.

The average price of a U.K. home has reached GBP165,411 in November, slightly higher than October's value of GBP165,303.
