Czech Q1 Jobless Rate Drops

(RTTNews) - Czech unemployment rate decreased in the three months ended March from a year ago, figures from the Czech Statistical Office showed Friday.

General unemployment rate, according to ILO methodology, fell to 4.4 percent in the first quarter from 6.0 percent in the corresponding period of 2015.

At the same time, the employment rate climbed to 71.0 percent in the March quarter from 69.3 percent in the same period last year.

The latest employment rate was the highest since 1993. In the fourth quarter of 2015, the rate was 70.8 percent.

Total employment in the first quarter grew by 99,500 people over the year to 5.08 million.
