Czech July Current Account Surprises With Deficit

(RTTNews) - The Czech current account for July unexpectedly revealed a deficit, mainly due to a bigger shortfall in the income account, data from the Czech National Bank showed Monday.

The current account logged a deficit of CZK 21.5 billion, after a surplus of CZK 9.90 billion in the previous month. Economists had forecast a surplus of CZK 0.7 billion. A year ago, the deficit was CZK 5.48 billion.

The deficit in the primary income account widened to CZK 38.17 billion from CZK 19.39 billion in June.
