COLOMBIA: CPI Rises 3.97% In September
(RTTNews) - The Colombian Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 3.97% in September on an annual basis, accelerating when compared to the 3.87% yearly increase recorded in August, said the country's statistics office.
The inflation rate in Colombia also hit last month the highest level since June, scratching the ceiling of the target set by the country's central bank for this year, of 4%.
The highest contributors to the inflation during the last twelve months were housing, food and transportation.
Meanwhile, the monthly variation of the CPI in September was 0.04%, lower than the 0.14% increase recorded in August, and also smaller than the expected by economists (+0.18%).
