China Non-manufacturing PMI Rises In April

(RTTNews) - China's non-manufacturing activity rebounded in April, the data released by National Bureau of Statistics and China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing showed Saturday.

China services PMI improved to 54.8 percent from 54.5 percent recorded in March. A reading above 50 suggests expansion in activity, whereas a reading below that shows contraction.

The new orders sub-index for the non-manufacturing sector was 50.8, unchanged from last month.

New export orders fell by 0.7 percent to 51 percent from last month, data showed.

The business activity index was expected at 61.5 percent in April. This is in line with previous month's reading.

Cai Jin, Vice president of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, said, "Business activity index rebounded in April, reflecting a continuation of economic activity in the non-manufacturing sector growth. In view of the sectors, activities in the productive service sector, especially the logistics industry are active."
