Bulgaria Q4 Jobless Rate Drops

(RTTNews) - Bulgaria's unemployment rate decreased in the three months ended December from a year ago, figures from the National Statistical Institute showed Monday.

The jobless rate fell to 7.9 percent in the fourth quarter from 10.6 percent in the corresponding month last year.

The number of unemployed people decreased to 261,000 in three-month period to December from 354,500 a year earlier.

The unemployment rate for the age group 15 to 24, dropped to 22.4 percent from 24.0 percent.

Meanwhile, the employment rate for population aged 15 to 64 was 63.7 percent in the December quarter, up from 61.4 percent in the same period of the previous year.
