(RTTNews) - Brazil's consumer price inflation unexpectedly slowed in July, figures from the statistical office IBGE showed Friday.

The consumer price index rose 6.50 percent year-on-year, after climbing 6.52 percent in June. Economists had expected the inflation figure to quicken to 6.60 percent.
