BRAZIL: Industry Confidence Rises And Nears The Highest Level Since 2014
(RTTNews) - Brazilian industrial confidence index rose from 90.8 points in July to 92.2 points in August, virtually returning to the highest level of this year - the 92.3 points reading last seen in May, which was the best result since 2014, according to the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
August data reveals that the confidence recovery reflects an improvement in the assessments of both the current situation and expectations for the months ahead.
On a monthly basis, the present situation index increased by 1.6 points, to 90.0 points, the highest level since May 2014, while the expectations index grew by 1 point, to 94.4 points.
According to FGV, the rise in industrial sector confidence reached 11 of the 19 industrial segments surveyed. However, the Installed Capacity Utilization Level decreased by 0.6 percentage point (pp) from July to August, to 74.1%.
