Brazil Consumer Confidence Highest Since Jan 2015

(RTTNews) - Brazil consumer confidence rose to its highest level since early 2015 in August, survey data from the think tank IBRE showed Wednesday.

The consumer confidence index climbed to 79.3 from 76.7 in July.

The reading rose for a fourth consecutive month and the score was the highest since January 2015. In April this year, the index hit a record low 64.4.

Households' expectations improved as they were satisfied with the current situation. Their view on the labor market and their personal financial situation also improved.

The sub-index for the current conditions increased for a second straight month and the measure for expectations climbed for a fourth consecutive month to its highest level since December 2014.
