ARGENTINA: Government Rearranges Ministries To Cut Spending
(RTTNews) - Argentina's government changed its ministerial structure by eliminating the Ministry of Communications, which will be absorbed by the Ministry of Modernization.
Meanwhile, the Secretariat of Sports will be part of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, and the Ministries Act was changed to transfer functions of the Ministry of Production to the Cabinet Chief in areas related to commercial policy abroad, as well as exhibitions and fairs.
These changes were expected as part of a cabinet reduction plan aimed to cut public spending. According to the government, these measures seek to achieve "rational use of public resources, particularly those related to national public investment, to enhance planning and management control."
