ARGENTINA: Country Promotes PPP At World Bank Meeting

(RTTNews) - Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) are a way to solve infrastructure problems, and in Argentina, this process is being launched, according to Finance Minister Luis Caputo, as part of prepared remarks at the World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington.

"We have been working closely with Jim Yong Kim and his team to come up with innovative ideas that would allow us to increase funding from the World Bank and other multilateral agencies. We have found some structures such as the PPP model that allows us to leverage loans more than ten times," the official said.

Also, he said that in Argentina there are 60 projects for almost US$ 30 billion to be executed in the next four years. "We are working with the Jim Yong Kim team to improve the quality of these investments," Caputo added.
