Commerce Energy Names Erik Lopez as General Counsel
Commerce Energy Group, Inc. (AMEX:EGR), a leading U.S. electricity and
natural gas marketing company, today named Erik A. Lopez as senior vice
president and general counsel.
Lopez comes to Commerce from the Orange County office of Paul, Hastings,
Janofsky & Walker LLP, where he practiced as a corporate attorney.
Earlier, he served in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins LLP and
before that in the New York and San Francisco offices of Shearman &
Sterling LLP. He earned a juris doctor degree from New York University
School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree in political science,
graduating with honors from the University of Chicago.
"Erik brings considerable experience in, among
others, the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and
Sarbanes-Oxley, which he gained while working for some of the largest
and most respected law firms in the country,”
