First Tennessee Capital I -- Moody's downgrades First Horizon (senior to Baa3), outlook stable
New York, October 25, 2013 -- Moody's Investors Service downgraded the long-term ratings of First Horizon National Corporation (FHN) and its subsidiaries. FHN's senior unsecured debt rating was downgraded to Baa3 from Baa2. The lead bank's (First Tennessee Bank, National Association) standalone bank financial strength rating (BFSR) was affirmed at C-, but the bank's baseline credit assessment (BCA) was lowered to baa2 from baa1. As a result, the bank's long-term deposit rating was downgraded to Baa2 from Baa1. The bank's short-term deposit rating was affirmed at Prime-2. Following the rating action, FHN's rating outlook is stable.
