Madrid, June 07, 2016 -- Moody's Investors Service has today downgraded to B3 from B1 the long-term deposit and senior debt ratings of Portugal'sCaixa Economica Montepio Geral (Montepio). The rating agency has also downgraded (1) The bank's baseline credit assessment (BCA) and adjusted BCA to caa1 from b3; (2) the bank's dated subordinated program ratings to (P)Caa2 from (P)Caa1; (3) the bank's junior subordinated program ratings to (P)Caa3 from (P)Caa2; and (4) the bank's long-term Counterparty Risk Assessment (CR Assessment) to B1(cr) from Ba3(cr). The outlook on Montepio's long-term deposit and senior debt ratings has been changed to negative.
