Sao Paulo, August 16, 2013 -- Moody's Investors Service has today lowered Banco Máxima S.A. (Máxima)'s baseline credit assessment (BCA) to b3, from b2, and downgraded the bank's long-term global local and foreign currency deposit ratings to B3, from B2. At the same time, Moody's downgraded Máxima's Brazilian national scale deposit ratings to Ba2.br and BR-4, from Baa3.br and BR-3, long- and short-term, respectively. Moody's also affirmed Máxima's bank financial strength at E+ and short-term global local and foreign currency deposit ratings at Not Prime. Moody's also placed a negative outlook on all ratings.
