Amlin PLC -- Moody's: Lloyd's of London has strengthened its credit profile; but challenges lie ahead

London, 09 September 2014 -- Lloyd's of London's composite credit profile has improved as capitalisation and profitability have improved, says Moody's Investors Service in a new report published today. These improvements were driven by (1) a strengthening of central controls and underwriting criteria; and (2) individual syndicates that have, in general, benefited from favourable underwriting conditions. But despite these improvements, hurdles specific to Lloyd's and for Lloyd's as part of the global insurance market pose challenges for future growth and performance.
