Alberta, Province of -- Moody's: Deficits and increasing debt levels pressure Alberta's Aaa rating
Toronto, April 15, 2016 -- In its 2016-17 Budget, the Province of Alberta (Aaa negative) projects a deficit of CAD10.4 billion (25% of revenue) for 2016-17, sharply higher than last year but in line with the province's most recent revised projections and Moody's expectations. The province also projects large deficits over the following two years and does not expect to return to balance within the next seven years.
