Wynn Resorts Says No New Info On DOJ Probe Disclosed In 10-Q
(RTTNews) - Wynn Resorts Ltd. (WYNN) late Tuesday sought to clarify some media reports about the company.
In a statement, the firm said erroneous reports by several news organizations, including Anna Prior of the Wall Street Journal, mentioned a Department of Justice investigation noted in the company's 10-Q released today.
Wynn noted that those reports fail to mention that no new information was released on the matter in the 10-Q and is identical to the disclosure the company made in May and August. The disclosure is consistent with standard reporting practices.
According to the firm, When the US Department of Justice publicly filed its 35-page motion in April to intervene in the Okada case, the motion included a one-sentence footnote mentioning that the DOJ was conducting an investigation into the company's donation to the University of Macau.
Wynn Resorts has never received a target letter or subpoena with such an investigation. Furthermore, the Securities and Exchange Commission disclosed in July that it would not recommend any enforcement action in the matter, the firm said.
