WPP Q3 Revenues Rise; Backs FY15 Forecast - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - UK-based advertising giant WPP Group Plc. (WPP.L, WPPGY) reported Monday that its third-quarter revenue increased 5.9 percent from last year to 2.927 billion pounds.

In US dollar basis, revenues dropped 1.6 percent to $4.533 billion, while it climbed 17 percent in euros to 4.075 billion euros and went up 15.4 percent in yen to 554 billion Japanese yen

Third-quarter constant currency revenue went up 7.9 percent, and like-for-like revenue grew 4.6 percent. Like-for-like revenue growth in the third quarter continued at similarly strong levels in the United States, despite softening in the United Kingdom, the company noted.

Net sales in the quarter was 2.518 billion pounds, a growth of 4.2 percent on a reported basis and 6.1 percent in constant currency. Like-for-like net sales went up 3.3 percent.

Looking ahead for 2015, reflecting the first nine months performance, the company said its forecast remain at like-for-like net sales growth of over 3.0 percent, despite a worldwide softening in the GDP growth rate. The company targets operating margin to net sales improvement of 0.3 margin points on a constant currency basis.
