Wisconsin Energy Group Q1 Earnings Advance 3%

(RTTNews) - Wisconsin Energy Group (WEC) released a profit for its first quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $356.6 million, or $1.12 per share. This was higher than $346.2 million, or $1.09 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.06 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.0% to $2.30 billion. This was up from $2.19 billion last year.
