Wireless Carriers Select Intrado for E9-1-1 Services; Wireless E9-1-1
Business Editors/High-Tech Writers
LONGMONT, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2005--Intrado Inc. (NASDAQ: TRDO), a global provider of integrated data and telecommunications solutions, today announced new contracts for wireless E9-1-1 solutions with SureWest Wireless, a subsidiary of SureWest Communications (NASDAQ: SURW), and Immix Wireless.
The rural wireless carriers have purchased a combination of Phase I and Phase II E9-1-1 services and in some cases, position determination entity (PDE) services from Intrado. Each will use Intrado's hosted service facility, which alleviates the need for large capital expenditures, reduces technology obsolescence concerns, and streamlines deployments regardless of the carrier's size, air interface or subscriber base.
"We're pleased that these carriers have selected the Intrado(R) hosted MPC technology to support their growing subscriber base," said Dan Hoskins, Intrado senior vice president of sales and market development. "Intrado's hosted E9-1-1 services provide Tier 3 wireless carriers with an accurate, scalable and efficient system to support their continued growth in E9-1-1 deployments."
