Wells Fargo & Co. Names Richard Yorke Head of International Group
Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced that Richard Yorke has been named head of Wells Fargo’s International Group, reporting to Dave Zuercher, Group Head of International & Insurance Services. Yorke will be based in San Francisco and have responsibility for Global Financial Institutions & Trade Services, International Financial Services and Global Operations. He will join Wells Fargo in October.
Yorke brings to Wells Fargo a wide range of banking experience focused on corporate and commercial banking, financial institutions, and trade finance. He worked with HSBC for 20 years in various international roles and spent time in Dubai, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jersey in the Channel Islands and the U.S. Most recently he served as Group General Manager and president and CEO of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited.

Yorke has also been active in promoting the foreign banking industry in China, assuming the inaugural role of Director of the China Banking Association’s Foreign Bank Working Committee in 2007. As an active member of his local community, he was named an "Honorary Citizen of Shanghai” in 2009 for his outstanding contributions to developing Shanghai into a financial services center, training local talent in the banking industry, and supporting education and social welfare development in the city. He is also a recipient of the Magnolia Award from the Shanghai Municipal Government and a member of the Board of Trustees of Shanghai’s Tongji University.
Yorke is a graduate of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and has a Joint Honors degree in German and Economics.
