Waste Management Inc Reveals 8% Rise In Q2 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Waste Management Inc (WM) reported earnings for its second quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $329 million, or $0.74 per share. This was up from $306 million, or $0.67 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.71 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.3% to $3.43 billion. This was up from $3.32 billion last year.
