Waste Connections Profit In Line With Estimates, Revenue Beats

(RTTNews) - Waste Connections Inc (WCN), a solid waste services company, on Monday reported second-quarter net earnings of $57.4 million or $0.46 per share compared with $62.7 million or $0.50 per share last year.

Excluding amortization charges and other one-time items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.50 per share compared with $0.53 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were higher at $531.3 million compared with $524.7 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.50 per share on revenues of $529 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said it is on track to report about $2.11 billion in revenues in 2015, meeting or exceeding its expectations. Analysts expect revenues of $2.11 billion.

Separately, the company said its board has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.13 per common share.
